Huggate is a pretty village sitting in the middle of the Yorkshire Wolds.  A gentle five minute stroll will take you to The Wolds Inn offering a good hearty menu or 5 minutes the other way down to Walnut Tearooms for scrumptious tea and cakes. The village has reputably the deepest well in England, St Marys Church is open each day and is frequently used by villages, visitors and cyclist as an oasis of calm and central to the village is the village green and pond where you can sit and watch the ducks waddling by.
There are Sainsburys and Aldi supermarkets in Pocklington (6miles) and Tuesday is market day where you can find an array of stalls offering fresh produce.
The historic market town of Beverley is 17 miles away surrounded by four pastures here you can walk along side cattle and sheep who wander the pastures freely. Commanding the town is its medieval minster with its cathedral like architecture along with many shops and restaurants.
